MOSCOW, April 3 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a package of laws on the establishment of courts in the LPR and the Zaporozhye region, as well as on the procedure for selecting candidates for the initial composition of federal courts, the relevant documents are published on the official portal of legal information.
According to the laws, the selection of candidates for the initial composition of federal courts of general jurisdiction and arbitration courts will be carried out on a competitive basis by the High Qualification Board of Judges. The right to fill positions will be given to those judges who held the corresponding positions in the region at the time of joining the Russian Federation, but the candidate must have the citizenship of the Russian Federation and meet the job requirements.
It also provides for the procedure for conducting a competitive selection and passing a qualification exam by applicants for the positions of judges, and determines the powers of the High Qualification Board of Judges and the High Examination Commission for taking a qualification exam for the position of a judge.
