Russia has created the National Prize for Children's Literature

MOSCOW, 3 Mar. In Russia, the National Prize in the field of children's and adolescent literature has been created, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The organizing committee and the jury were headed by Vladimir Tolstoy. The award was established by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
The idea of ​​its creation «came up during Olga Lyubimova's visit to the Russian State Children's Library last year,» the publication says. The initiative was taken by the writer, chairman of the board of trustees of the Russian State Children's Library, Andrey Usachev, and the great-grandson of K. I. Chukovsky, Dmitry Chukovsky.

The awards will be presented in seven categories: for contribution to the development of children's literature, prose for children, prose for teenagers, poetry for children, poetry for teenagers, illustrated book for children and teenagers, publishing project for children and teenagers.
«In an odd year, the nomination «For Contribution to the Development of Children's Literature» is awarded to a writer, in an even year — to an illustrator,» the ministry said.
Applications for participation are accepted from April 3 to June 15 on the website detlitpremia.rf.
