ROSTOV-NA- DONU, April 4 The court convicted the former head of the Kuibyshev district of the Rostov region of taking a bribe on an especially large scale and sentenced him to 9 years in prison, the press service of the regional SUSK RF reported.

She was found guilty of committing crimes under part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on an especially large scale), part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ( abuse of power) and paragraph «b» of part 3 of article 174.1 (laundering of money or other property acquired by a person as a result of committing a crime),» the message says.
The investigation and the court established that from 2018 to 2021, the convict received a bribe from a representative of a commercial organization that won a tender for construction work for municipal needs. She received the money «for the commission of actions related to the execution of the municipal contract.»
According to a law enforcement source, the amount of the bribe amounted to about 1.2 million rubles. The official received money for the unhindered signing of acts of work performed and acts of payment. The convict legalized the money received by buying an apartment in Rostov-on-Don with them.
In addition, in September 2019, the former official illegally demanded that a representative of one of the commercial organizations make repairs to the roof of the house in which she lived at her own expense. The cost of these repairs amounted to over 440 thousand rubles.
«According to the verdict of the court, she was sentenced to 9 years in prison, to be served in a correctional colony of general regime,» the regional SUSK reported. In addition, the convict is deprived of the right to hold senior positions in state bodies and institutions, local governments for 5 years. It is specified that the verdict has not entered into force.
