The head of the State Duma committee on social policy, Nilov, doubted the prospects for a long May weekend
Yaroslav Nilov, head of the RF State Duma committee on social policy, said that the committee will discuss the draft law on long holidays from May 1 to May 9 annually, with reduction of the New Year holidays by 4 days, however, such an initiative is not the first, and there are no serious prospects for this project at the moment.
According to the deputy, the committee will “consider, discuss and look” when the relevant bill arrives . At the same time, Nilov stressed that due to the fact that this initiative is not the first one, according to the deputy, it has no serious prospects. The parliamentarian added that this is an “old discussion.”
It is noted that State Duma deputies from the New People party on Wednesday submitted a bill to the House on long holidays from May 1 to May 9 annually, while proposing to reduce the New Year holiday week for 4 days.
