The Leningradsky District Court of Kaliningrad until May 30 arrested five security officials suspected of abuse of office (Part 4 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code). This was reported to «New Kaliningrad» in the press service of the court.
The Investigative Committee clarified to the publication that the head of the operational-search department of the Kaliningrad Regional Customs, an operative of the department of internal security of the transport police, two employees of the Russian Guard and one from the Economic Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were arrested. The name of the customs officer is known — Nikita Sadovsky.
According to investigators, on March 28, the detainees conducted six searches in the apartments of seven local residents, whom they suspected of illegal business and possession of tobacco products. The security forces beat the men and tortured them with electric shocks in an attempt to extract confessions.
The victims recorded the beatings and contacted the police themselves. The arrested security officials do not admit their guilt.
