Danone commented on the options for adapting brands to the Russian market



MOSCOW, April 7 The French company Danone is exploring various options for how to adapt its international brands to the Russian market, the company's press service said.
“We are exploring different possibilities of how to make international brands more relevant to the local market (in Russia — ed.),” the company's press service said.
According to the materials on the site, in Russia the company manufactures products under such brands as Prostokvashino, Activia, Actimel, Alpro, Rastishka, Tyoma, Danissimo, Danone , «Biobalance», «Petmol», «Actual» and others.

Danone has been present in Russia since 1992. In mid-October last year, the company announced that it plans to transfer control over the production of dairy and plant products in the country, but will work as usual during the transition period, which will take enough time.

In early February, market sources told the agency that Danone had selected about 20 applicants for its Russian assets, including the largest Russian agricultural holdings, as well as Arab and Chinese investors. The conditions under which the company is ready to transfer to potential investors control over part of the assets in Russia and over domestic brands — a repurchase option for five to ten years, as well as maintaining a blocking stake.
