Although Kuznetsova does not mention the name of the teacher, we can talk about Lari Shirokova. In early April, the telegram channel “Direct Action Actions” called on its subscribers to write complaints against Shirokova and the HSE. The authors of the post demanded that the teacher be held accountable “for promoting homosexuality and gender reassignment, including among minors.”
The Telegram channel was associated with followers of the “Men’s State”, recognized as extremist in Russia. This is an Internet movement, which, according to its leader, blogger Vladislav Pozdnyakov, promotes “national patriarchy”. Pozdnyakov himself denied his connection with Direct Action Action.
Earlier, after the complaints of subscribers of the Actions of the Direct Case, Roskomnadzor blocked queer websites and podcasts. The authors of the channel also urged people to write complaints against opponents of the war in Ukraine.
Lari Shirokova used to have a website, but it is now unavailable. The pages in social networks indicated in the archived copy of the site were deleted.
In December, Vladimir Putin signed a law banning «propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and gender reassignment.» For its violation, a fine of up to five million rubles is provided.
