IRKUTSK, April 8 Three men accused of the 2010 murder-for-hire of a former police officer have been arrested in Irkutsk, the region's SUSK reports.
According to the version of the investigation, in June 2010, in the city of Bratsk, a contract killing of a former patrol officer was committed. The perpetrators of the crime shot the man with a pistol with a silencer, after which they burned the body and the car. After the murder, the perpetrators received 1.5 million rubles from the customer. Then the investigation failed to solve the crime. The criminal case was suspended. Investigators of the Investigative Committee and forensic specialists, with the assistance of the FSB officers, studying the suspended criminal cases, carried out additional investigative and operational-search actions. As a result, three men aged 53 to 55 were detained in Irkutsk, Bratsk and Novosibirsk.
«Third Department for the Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk Region charged three men with committing a crime under paragraphs» g, h. 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, out of mercenary motives, for hire). At the request of the investigating authorities, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention,» the report says.
The murder orderer, Igor Innokentevich Abanin, born in 1970, was put on the federal wanted list.
