MOSCOW, April 6 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk and Moscow need to have a serious media holding, but this requires certain funds.
«Media resources — our specialists are also discussing this topic. Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) and I agreed back in St. Petersburg that we need to have a serious allied media holding. Yes, it will not be cheap to some extent, but if we want, for the agenda to sound, there is something to talk about — we need to create this media holding, without sticking it to any other organizations. We agreed on this. But this is not done right away, especially since certain funds are needed,» Lukashenka said during a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus on Thursday in Moscow.
According to Lukashenka, «we have no right to lose the battle for the minds and hearts of our citizens on the printed, television, radio and digital battlefields.» «The ideological confrontation along the West-East line is not weakening, even after the guns fall silent. This is for a long time,» the Belarusian leader said.
Lukashenko also noted that the situation around the Russian Federation and Belarus is not easy, however, he added, Moscow and Minsk «without a doubt, adequately withstood the first massive economic blow.»
