The Novgorod District Court fined historian Pavel Kolosnitsyn 30,000 rubles under a protocol on abuse of freedom of the mass media (part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is reported by the publication «7×7».
The reason was the publication on the scientist's VKontakte page of a video by Michael Nucky about the beginning of mobilization and the losses of the Russian military in the war in Ukraine. A member of the local branch of Yabloko, Ksenia Cherepanova, reports that the report on Kolosnitsyn was drawn up on the basis of a denunciation by his acquaintance, a journalist from Moscow, Alexei Paevsky. However, Paevsky himself told Kolosnitsyn that he had not written any denunciation. The journalist confirmed this in writing to the scientist's lawyer, Konstantin Markin.
In court, the arguments of the defense were supported by Irina Levontina, an employee of the Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She said that Kolosnitsyn's post was evaluative.
