The landing sites of the new Russian spacecraft became known

MOSCOW, Apr 4< /strong> The Orel spacecraft designed in Russia will be able to land in two areas — in the Orenburg region and in Siberia, a map of landing points is published in the scientific journal of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (CTC) «Manned Space Flights».
«On the territory of the Russian Federation, two main landing areas have been identified, an important requirement for which is their proximity to existing transport communications (airfields, roads, railways) and places that provide the possibility of providing medical assistance to the crew,» the publication says.

Two points are shown on the map that accompanies the material. One is located between the Volga and Ural rivers, the second is located between the Ob and Irtysh. Both points are quite close to the border of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan.

It is clarified that the deviation of the return vehicle of a promising transport ship from the calculated landing point during a standard controlled descent, both when returning from the Moon and from near-Earth orbit, will be no more than seven kilometers.
In addition, in the selected areas, roads will be located at a distance of 20-25 kilometers. It is also planned that helicopter pads will be prepared in the immediate vicinity of these roads, which will be needed if ground facilities cannot find the crew.
Earlier, materials were published in the journal of the head scientific institute of Roscosmos TsNIIMash «Cosmonautics and rocket science», according to which four landing areas for the new ship were selected — Engels (Saratov Region), Orsk (Orenburg Region), Orenburg and Rubtsovsk (Altai Territory).
Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov, General Director of the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities at TsENKI, said in an interview earlier that specialists had already begun equipping landing sites for the prospective Orel manned spacecraft. Prior to this, it was reported that one of the Orel's landing sites would be located 64 kilometers southeast of Orenburg.

Later, Uralvagonzavod reported that a batch of Vityaz caterpillar snow and swamp vehicles was shipped to the construction site of the landing complex for the return of Russian spacecraft in the Orenburg region. Vehicles will be used to meet crews.
