Earlier, a video of the incident circulated on social networks, the footage shows bright flames and puffs of black smoke soaring ten meters away. In another video, one of the eyewitnesses runs to the place of emergency, fire and smoke are visible behind the crane.
According to the department, a message about the ignition of a clamshell loader on the territory of the coal terminal in Nakhodka was received by the fire and rescue service at 07.02 (00.02 Moscow time).
“At the time firefighters arrived, the battery compartment of the loader was on fire. As a result of the fire, special equipment was damaged by fire in an area of about 30 square meters. There were no deaths or injuries.
In total, three units of fire equipment and 13 personnel were involved in the extinguishing.
