MOSCOW, 8 Apr. The Ukrainian state may disappear by the end of the year due to the difficult situation in the country, Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, said in an interview with journalist Stephen Gardner.
«I'm not sure that Ukraine will exist by the end of 2023 as a nation-state. <…> The situation inside the country is appalling, the losses are appalling,» the officer said.
According to him, Western media are constantly misleading the public and hiding the real state of affairs in the Eastern European republic.
«Everything will end with the fact that we call Kiev and no one else will answer us,» McGregor mocked.
Earlier, retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter predicted the surrender of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by October of this year. According to the former intelligence officer, Ukraine will stop receiving Western equipment by mid-summer and will be defeated in the fall.
