«The question that could arise is: will there be a sequel? There will be,» Garmash said at the premiere of the film in Genichesk, Kherson region. After his words, applause broke out in the hall.
Earlier, the general director of Soyuzmultfilm, Boris Mashkovtsev, said that the film studio and the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, after the success of Cheburashka, are discussing what their next joint project will be. He noted that he would not share the details yet, «so as not to give too much hope.»
The family comedy «Cheburashka» about the famous animated character was directed by Dmitry Dyachenko. The film premiered on January 1st. For two weeks, the film became the highest-grossing film in the history of domestic distribution. Collections in Russia and other CIS countries exceeded 6.8 billion rubles.
