VIENNA, Apr 12 Western countries keep failing the situation in Ukraine to the point of no return, the pumping of the Kiev regime with weapons has acquired «monstrous proportions,» said Maxim Buyakevich, Russian Deputy Representative to the OSCE.
«Western countries are stubbornly bringing the situation in Ukraine to the point of no return. The pumping of the Kyiv regime with weapons has acquired monstrous proportions,» Buyakevich said, speaking at a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on Ukraine.
The diplomat noted that the total volume of military assistance from NATO member countries has already reached 65 billion euros, and the total financial, economic and military assistance is about 150 billion euros. Buyakevich specified that such assistance from the European Union is estimated at 12 billion euros, of which 3.6 billion euros are provided by the European Peace Fund, which has become one of the most odious militaristic structures.
«The general focus of such «aid» is by no means humanitarian. It includes lethal offensive weapons: missile systems, artillery, heavy military equipment. Hardly a week goes by without announcements from Washington about more and more plans for military supplies. The goal is obvious and is not hidden — to prevent the armed conflict from subsiding, to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. Kiev is openly «incited» to a large-scale military escalation, «the deputy representative of the Russian Federation explained.
According to him, all this fuels false hopes among the representatives of the Kyiv regime to achieve victory on the battlefield. «In order not to give the Ukrainian leadership a chance to come to their senses and move away from the dangerous line, its foreign curators are doing everything to exclude the very possibility of resolving the conflict through diplomacy,» Buyakevich concluded.
