MOSCOW, 11 Apr. In Coventry, England, environmental activists were detained for attacking an exhibit at the Dippy the Dinosaur exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Daily Mail writes.
21-year-old student Daniel Knorr and 67-year-old English teacher Victoria Lindsell climbed over a metal fence. However, employees in jackets with reflective stripes managed to grab them and knock them down. The attackers were later taken away by the police.
«It is clear that they were going to spray paint on the exhibit,» writes the Daily Mail.
Knorr and Lindsell were wearing Just Stop Oil T-shirts. The movement opposes the British government's plan to allow oil and gas production from 46 fields in 2025. Its members blocked roads and glued themselves to paintings in museums.
«Dippy the Dinosaur» is a life-size plaster replica of Carnegie's Diplodocus skeleton. This type of lizard lived 155 — 145 million years ago.
It was previously reported that environmental activists were fined in London for stickers on Constable's «Hay Cart» painting.
