MOSCOW, Apr 11 Rocket and Space Corporation (RKK) Energia wants to complete the construction of a new Russian Orbital Station (ROS) in orbit by 2032, not 2035 year, as planned earlier, said Vladimir Kozhevnikov, chief designer of the plant, Deputy General Designer of RSC Energia.
«The launch date of the first module in 2027 is being considered, and the completion of the deployment of the ROS is in 2032,» Kozhevnikov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta «.
According to him, in the summer of 2023, RSC is going to complete the preliminary design of the station and protect it in Roskosmos. After the conclusion of the necessary state contracts, work on the creation of the ROS can begin in 2024.
After the complete assembly of the new station, the volume of its pressurized compartments should be 450 cubic meters, and the mass of the station — 135 tons. At the second stage, a transformable module can be introduced into the structure of the ROS, which will fly to it in a folded state, and will be opened in orbit. In such a module, according to Kozhevnikov, it will be possible to place a centrifuge.
«In addition, we are planning to restore the lost technologies that were not used during the construction of the ISS. The same power gyro complexes, high-power power supply. At the ISS, gyrodines are only on the American segment, the main electricity also comes from there. But we have our own production,» the chief added. constructor.
It is assumed that at the initial stage of deployment, the station will operate in parallel with the ISS. The duration of the flight of the first crews will be up to 240 days, then the expeditions will be organized in the visiting format. The station will be able to accommodate up to six astronauts.
For protection, the station modules will be «dressed» in multi-layered armor — anti-meteoroid screens.
