
MOSCOW, 11 Apr. American TV series star Elizabeth Hubbard has died at her home in Connecticut, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the source, the actress passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was 89 years old.
Hubbard is best known for Law & Order, Guiding Light, Life on Mars and Screen Queen. In 1974, she received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in the soap opera The Doctors. In 1976, the actress was again awarded for Diary of a First Lady: Edith Wilson.
In addition, Hubbard became the first American woman to receive a silver medal from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
She starred not only in the series: she performed on the Broadway stage and appeared in several feature films.
The actor Vadim Volkov died earlier. The cause of death of the 59-year-old artist was not specified.
