MOSCOW, 13 Apr. The Chinese carmaker Chery plans to start selling new Jaecoo brand cars in Russia in 2023, Omoda (one of Chery's brands) said in a statement.
«At the upcoming international motor show in Shanghai, the global premiere of the new Jaecoo brand , which will become the senior branch of the Omoda brand. The auto show will open on April 18, 2023,» the message says. «Jaecoo's product line in Russia will be replenished with two models in 2023,» the company also said. At the same time, she does not disclose details about these two models yet.
It is specified that as part of the development of the Omoda dealer network, by the end of 2023, Jaecoo cars are planned to be presented in Russia in 120 showrooms — in 100 dealer centers that combine the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, and 20 independent Jaecoo showrooms.
According to the Association of European Businesses, in the first quarter of 2023, sales of Chery's own brand in Russia tripled compared to the same period last year, to 18, 9 thousand cars. Sales of two other brands of the automaker: Omoda and Exceed amounted to 5.6 thousand cars each. For the first, the dynamics is not given, for the second — growth by 2.4 times.
