
MEXICO CITY, Apr 14 Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro invited the representative of the US State Department to go to hell in response to the threats of the US government published in the media to increase sanctions against his country. The head of state announced this on the air of Venezolana de Televisión.
Earlier, the building of Europa Press, citing a representative of the State Department, said that the States reserve the right to tighten restrictive measures if the process of dialogue with the opposition does not move forward, and repression intensifies. The material appeared after Juan Guaido's statement about his possible arrest.
«The Gringo Representative has issued threats to Venezuela that if Venezuela does not move forward in political dialogue with the gangster, corrupt and home-trading sector of the Unitary Platform, they will retaliate and impose sanctions against our country. I suggest this Gringo representative to go to hell, because Venezuela is respected» Maduro stressed.
According to him, the Bolivarian government does not accept threats from Washington. Maduro pointed out that Venezuela, through its own efforts, overcame the sanctions barriers.
The opposition at the end of 2022 voted for the liquidation of the «interim government» of Juan Guaido, and he himself left the post of speaker of the opposition parliament. Leaders of movements that disagreed with Maduro said that the dissolution of the interim government was overdue as the structure weakened and ceased to function.
In Venezuela, in early 2019, mass protests began against the president shortly after he was sworn in. Juan Guaido, head of the opposition-controlled National Assembly, illegally proclaimed himself interim head of state. Several Western countries, led by the United States, announced the recognition of Guaido. In turn, Maduro called the head of parliament a puppet of the States.
