
MOSCOW, April 14 Singer Melissa Schumann has again filed a rape lawsuit against Nick Carter, lead singer of the American boy band Backstreet Boys, reports the Evening Standard.
«Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has been sued for alleged sexual assault and assault,» the publication said.
Shuman first said that Carter raped her in 2017. He claimed that this happened in 2002. She later reported the incident to the Santa Monica police, but the prosecutor's office refused to charge the soloist.
According to the lawsuit, Carter used his «role, status and influence as a famous singer» to manipulate and sexually exploit Schumann, the paper said.
According to the victim, the singer allegedly drugged and raped her in 2003, when she was 18 years old.
In late 2022, the New York Post reported that a woman suffering from autism and cerebral paralyzed, accused Carter of raping her more than 20 years ago when she was a minor.
In 2000, Nick Carter was named one of People Magazine's «50 Most Beautiful People on the Planet» and CosmoGirl magazine's «Sexiest Man in the World» in 2002.
