MOSCOW, April 12 The Russian National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NTsFM), which is being created near the city of Sarov (Nizhny Novgorod Region), will receive results, necessary for the implementation of various space projects in the interests of the development of science and technology — for example, to protect people and equipment from dust on the moon, the press service of the center said on Wednesday, Cosmonautics Day.
Now there is an acute issue of creating various devices and equipment for working on the surface of the Moon, which is covered with lunar regolith — lunar dust, said Alexander Sergeev, scientific director of the NTsFM, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

«The astrophysical laboratory of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics, which is being created, is developing the Dust Plasma stand to simulate the plasma-dust dynamics of atmosphereless bodies. Thanks to the work on the stand, experiments will help develop methods for protecting people and equipment from dust on the Moon, and later on Mars,» Sergeyev said. , the words of which are given in the press release.

For the first time in Russia, a large experimental complex is being created on the basis of the NTsFM section «Experimental Laboratory Astrophysics and Geophysics» — a laboratory for modeling space phenomena, in which it is planned to obtain new world-class scientific results for the exploration of near and far space. In addition to dusty plasma, the laboratory also plans to study the effect of ionizing radiation, electromagnetic fields and other factors on living organisms — plants and their signaling systems.
The «Photosynthesis» research facility being created will make it possible to solve the problem of identifying the possibilities and mechanisms for adapting living systems to the changing conditions of space. As a result, technical requirements for space life support systems will be developed. In addition, in related areas — biology, medicine and agriculture — these data are expected to open up new opportunities for influencing various processes in living organisms.
The NCFM is being created by the state corporation Rosatom together with Moscow State University, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kurchatov Institute next to the Russian Federal Nuclear Center located in Sarov — the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF).
The National Physical and Mathematical Center is necessary to obtain new world-class scientific results, train highly qualified scientists, educate new scientific and technological leaders, strengthen the personnel potential of Rosatom and key scientific organizations of the Russian Federation, and increase the attractiveness of Russian science for young scientists.

NCFM is already a cooperation of 55 leading research organizations and more than two thousand researchers who solve fundamental and applied problems within the framework of a common scientific program. The scientific program of the NCFM includes 10 major areas related to theoretical and nuclear physics, artificial intelligence, photon computing, particle physics and cosmology.
