SIMFEROPOL, Apr 12 Property of ex-mayor of Kherson Igor Kolykhaev described and is preparing for nationalization, said the Acting Governor of the region Vladimir Saldo.
Kolykhaev was dismissed from the post of mayor of Kherson in April 2022, refusing to cooperate with the Russian authorities, in June he was detained — as Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, who later died in an accident, said, Kolykhaev called for sabotage and failure to comply with the orders of the administration.
«His assets have been described and are being prepared for nationalization,» Saldo said. According to the interlocutor, Kolykhaev, through figureheads, tried to take out part of his property from the Kherson region, and transfer the remaining assets to support aggression against Russia.
Kherson region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022. The Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory of the region. Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, remains under Ukraine.
