MOSCOW, April 13 British designer Mary Quant, creator of miniskirts, has died at the age of 93, Sky News reported, citing her family.
«Designer Mary Quant has passed away,» the channel reports.
Quant was born in London in 1930 into a family of teachers. It was Quant who was the designer who brought into fashion the wearing of miniskirts and short shorts. In 1957, she and her husband opened a boutique in London, which quickly became popular and allowed them to expand their sales in Europe and the United States in the future. In addition to fashion design, Quant also produced glasses and cosmetics.
