At the World Championships in March, American figure skater Ilya Malinin performed an Axel in four and a half turns in a free program.

““Eteri Georgievna and I discussed that the boys’ number would not impress so far, plus we wouldn’t have enough boys of our own. Therefore, we decided that there would be only a female number. We chose music because it is driving and me I like the message: Who run the world? Girls! It was cool to show that we have three Olympic champions and they really rule the world in their form.
