UFA, 14 Apr. Rescuers from residents of the Bashkir cities of Ufa and Baymak received reports of the demolition of roofs, fences, protective structures of garbage containers and falling trees due to hurricane winds, the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Bashkiria reported.
Earlier, weather forecasters warned of winds up to 26 meters per second in Bashkiria.
“We received reports from Ufa and the city of Baymak. So far, there have been no reports from other cities. Usually loosely fixed structures, protective shields for garbage cans fall, several cases of roof damage and falling trees. There are no casualties among people,” the agency’s source said.
The Ufa civil protection department reports that cases of falling trees due to strong winds are recorded in the city.
«There were 4 reports of falling trees, 1 report of a roofing sheet falling. In three cases, incidents occurred in the Kalininsky district of the capital: two fallen trees damaged cars, one planting fell on the road. Two incidents were recorded in the Leninsky district. In the first case, a tree fell on the roadway, in the second — the roofing sheet fell on the car,» the report says.
According to the management, the cars received mechanical damage, none of the people were injured. Municipal services are carrying out work to eliminate the consequences of bad weather.
Meanwhile, residents of the region post photos and videos of the consequences of the hurricane on social networks. So, in one case, the bus stop pavilion flew into a residential building, in some cases, poles of power lines were knocked down, torn-off sheets of fences fly along the roads.
Forecasters have warned that squally wind in Bashkiria will continue on Saturday.
