Putin pointed to the withdrawal of a hundred accident-free space launches in Russia

MOSCOW, April 12 One hundred successive accident-free launches in domestic cosmonautics indicate the growth of the industry's potential, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a solemn event in honor of Cosmonautics Day, in the Kremlin.

"It is gratifying that our rocket and space industry is consistently increasing its potential. <…> For the first time in modern history, one hundred accident-free space launches in a row were carried out. Of course, this is a very good indicator that the industry is getting back on its feet,” the head of state emphasized.

The corresponding achievement became known on February 9. According to Roskosmos, this has happened for the first time in the modern history of the country. It is noted that 6 launches were made from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, 36 from Plesetsk, nine each from the Vostochny Cosmodrome and from the Guiana Space Center.

The previous achievement was 59 successful launches in a row — from February 1992 to March 1993 . This record was broken in June 2021, when the series of successful launches reached 60.
