MOSCOW, April 14 The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation is working on the possibility of reinvesting funds that investors from unfriendly countries do not want to take, fearing sanctions, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.

Siluanov reminded that the holders of Russia's external debt are mainly investors from unfriendly countries. Russia continues to fulfill its obligations to them as a bona fide borrower.
“But we fulfill these obligations as a state by transferring money to special accounts,” he said.
“The money is lying there. Western investors are in no hurry apply for money to service and repay public debt, fearing sanctions pressure. The Ministry of Finance is under sanctions. And, accordingly, interaction with money to service public debt can also affect secondary sanctions for such investors,» Siluanov explained.
