The Ministry of Justice declared the actor, comedian and author of satirical songs Semyon Slepakov, the Carnegie Endowment and the Agency publication to be «foreign agents», according to the ministry's website.
In addition, they added to the unified register of «foreign agents» Internet edition «Polygon», association «Rainbow Association», publicist and former secretary of the Union of Journalists Igor Yakovenko, author of the animated series Mr. Freeman Pavel Muntyan, as well as former Novaya Gazeta journalist and founder of To Be Continued Pavel Kanygin.
According to the Ministry of Justice, Slepakov «received support from foreign sources», spoke out against the war, «formed a negative attitude towards military service and civil service in general», «spoke negatively» about the Russians and lives abroad.
The agency considered that Yakovenko “called for a fight against the current government”, spoke out against the war and participated in the creation and distribution of “foreign agents” for materials, Muntyan “took part in raising funds in support of Ukraine”, and Kanygin “discredited” the army and published materials of foreign NGOs, «undesirable» organizations and other «foreign agents».
Polygon, The Agency, and the Carnegie Endowment, according to the Ministry of Justice, disseminated military fake news, and the Rainbow Association disseminated “propaganda of LGBT relations, which is contrary to state policy to preserve and strengthen traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.”
At the same time, the Center for the Conservation and Study of Salmon Species and Their Habitats and the Sakhalin Environmental Watch, which were included in the list on December 16, 2022, were excluded from the register. The next day, the Sakhalin «Ecological Watch» announced the liquidation.
In January of this year, the National Historical Heritage Protection Fund asked the Investigative Committee to check Slepakov for «discrediting» the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). The authors of the appeal wrote that in the song «Lullaby» the humorist «sneers at the sincere feelings of patriotism of the citizens of the Russian Federation, who are ready to sacrifice the most valuable and even their own lives for the sake of their country.»
