AFU is preparing new «surprises» before the offensive
On the night of April 17, Ukrainian drones dropped grenades at an electrical substation in the Belgorod region. Military expert Air Defense Colonel Yuri Knutov told MK how to defend against such attacks and revealed the type of explosive devices used by the enemy. According to him, more and more advanced drones appear in the Armed Forces of Ukraine every month and a half, so we should prepare for similar attacks in the future.
Recall that late in the evening a drone attacked an electrical substation in the village of Dragunskoye, Belgorod Region. The blow fell on the transformer. Around midnight, two more explosive devices were dropped on a substation in Near Igumenka. The fires were localized within an hour.
According to experts, the explosion at both facilities in Belgorod was carried out by dropping cumulative grenades of the PG-7VL type from drones.
According to the forecasts of a military expert, director of the Air Defense Museum Yuri Knutov, such attacks will not end, since the enemy has the task of destabilizing the situation and intimidating the civilian population.
— If we talk about the drone bombing that was carried out in the Belgorod region, then, of course, this kind of thing happens and will happen due to the fact that the drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being improved every month and a half,» he said. — Moreover, it is quite difficult to determine in which direction this improvement is taking place.
The military expert noted that enemy drones can carry a variety of ammunition, ranging from F-1 fragmentation grenades or high-explosive anti-tank grenades to artisanal ammunition. Despite the fact that the enemy, apparently, makes serious bets on drones, Russia has the means to deal with them.
— The only way to get rid of rather primitive drone raids is with the help of electronic warfare systems (EW) , which should be deployed along our border, — said Yuri Knutov. — I mean the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. Moreover, a frontier should be created, including an air defense system and an electronic warfare station.
But the entire territory, apparently, is not yet possible to cover due to the lack of such complexes. I think that soon the industry will work to produce a sufficient number of air defense and electronic warfare systems. In addition, the equipment will be transferred from the safest directions, where there is no hostilities now. Because, as a rule, the enemy attacks where there are holes, places that are not covered by the air defense system.
