
BANGUY, Apr 17 Central African Republic (CAR) authorities are counting to support Russian entrepreneurs, especially in the industrial sector, for the development of the country's agricultural sector, said the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Central African Republic, Lea Mbua Dumta.
«We are counting on the help of the Russian private sector, especially industrialists, to develop agriculture … Unfortunately, all our production is carried out using primitive methods — we lack technology, and therefore production volumes,» the minister said.
According to the head of the department, the topic of mechanization of the country's agricultural sector is now being discussed in order to reach higher production and export volumes. Dumta also spoke in favor of negotiations on cooperation with Russian engineering companies, such as AvtoVAZ and Kamaz, for the purchase of their products. However, according to her, it is necessary first to ensure the technical condition and safety of roads in the CAR.
Speaking about cooperation with the Russian Federation as a whole, the head of the department noted that it «is developing very quickly in accordance with the wishes of the presidents of the Central African Republic and the Russian Federation.» «I think that these relations will be strengthened for the benefit of the Russian and Central African peoples… The Central African Republic remains an importing country, Russia is a priority partner for us, we welcome any product that can be imported from the Russian Federation… Thanks to cooperation with Russia, it is possible to improve the country's supply and living conditions citizens,» she said.
Earlier, Chairman of the Parliament of the Central African Republic Simplis Sarandji said that Moscow and Bangui need to develop economic cooperation, the republic needs investments in the real sector of the economy, the country is ready to cooperate with the Russian Federation in the field of export of resources, agriculture, trade.
