The production of agricultural machinery requires strong and at the same time ductile steel with high impact strength, the university explained.
It was possible to strengthen steel and extend the life of the expected operation of parts from it by adding molybdenum, niobium and titanium, as well as due to the optimally selected mode of thermomechanical treatment.
The smelted steel is heated to a temperature of 840–900 ° C, the plastic deformation method is applied with a reduction of 15–20%, then it is cooled in water followed by low tempering at a temperature of 200°C.
The scientific team is aimed at introducing the development into production. The samples, modified in the laboratory, will be tested in the field on plowing light loamy and heavy loamy soils before the end of this year.
