Sunak commented on reports about the launch of an investigation into his declaration

MOSCOW, Apr 17 British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in early April appealed to the Parliamentary Liaison Committee with a statement that the share of his wife Akshata Murthy in the company Koru Kids, related to childcare, was declared, Harry Cole, a correspondent for the British newspaper The Sun, said citing Sunak's letter.
Earlier, the British Parliament announced the launch of an investigation into Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the issue of declaring financial interests. Under the rules, all British MPs are required to register all received gifts, contributions and donations in the so-called «register of interests». The Telegraph newspaper, citing a source in the prime minister's office, said the investigation was related to Sunak's wife's stake in a child care company.
«I note that there have been reports in the media about my wife's minority stake in Koru Kids. The (Communications) Committee asked me questions. I would like to clarify for the minutes of parliament that this interest was correctly declared in the cabinet. New the list of ministerial interests will be released shortly by independent adviser Laurie Magnus,» Sunak said in a letter posted by a Sun correspondent on Twitter. The letter is dated 4 April.

In the letter, Sunak noted that the interests of the ministers' spouses «are not something that can influence their actions as ministers or as members of parliament.»
