At a meeting with members of the government on Wednesday, Vladimir Putin told the details of his visit to the LPR, where on April 17 he held a meeting at the headquarters of the Vostok National Guard.< /p>
“I passed the Gukovo checkpoint, a large number of vehicles are parked there,” the president said. He noted that mostly civilian vehicles, not military ones, accumulated in the queue. “In this regard, it is necessary to pay attention and correct the situation,” he said, noting that it is necessary to expand checkpoints and increase the number of screening units and their employees.
According to Putin, both on the issue, the security services responsible for the search of vehicles will soon come to the government for money, and their requests must be granted.
He also said that he saw the repair work being carried out on the road behind the checkpoint. “The top layer of asphalt has been removed,” he specified. Putin said that, of course, it is possible to drive there, but this is not at all the road that goes from Rostov-on-Don to the Gukovo checkpoint.
Commenting on the remark of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin that the checkpoint at borders with new regions are expanding, Putin said that he had not been to other places, but at the checkpoint «Gukovo» «a flashy story.»
