Vitamin D: how the form of release affects the effect or … what's new this spring?

A lot has been written about vitamin D, but which of the products on the market is more effective in achieving the stated goals remains not always clear due to the abundance of brands presented. In this article, we will look at the benefits of vitamins in nanoemulsion form.

Winter is finally over and I want something light and bright. I want to forget about the pandemic and fatigue, get a supply of new strength. I want to hide from thoughts about health and think that the spring sun will make you not only squint with pleasure, but also give you a sufficient dose of vitamin D.

Of course, the spring sun pleases. But most of us live in cities where there is not enough sunshine even in summer. Air pollution, dense layers of clouds, long-sleeved clothing, and even sunscreen reduce the ability to get the right amount of ultraviolet radiation.¹ This means we don’t get enough vitamin D. Hence, a decrease in the body’s defenses, fatigue, fatigue.

And on what else does vitamin D do?

In recent years, it has become clear that it has many effects, is responsible for the activity of genes with vitamin D-sensitive elements. And there are about 10% of such genes in the body. For example, a vitamin regulates the functioning of the immune system. Scientists analyzed many well-conducted clinical studies and found that when taken daily, this vitamin can reduce the incidence of acute respiratory infections.² ³

Probably, there is not a single body system where cholecalciferol would not be needed — this is the scientific name of vitamin D3. To date, there is research evidence that cholecalciferol is associated with reproductive function in both men and women. It prevents menstrual irregularities.¹³ Low levels of the vitamin during pregnancy have also been shown to be linked to the risk of preterm delivery⁶ and having a baby with a lower birth weight.⁷ ⁸

The effect on the nervous system is also important: the vitamin helps reduce the risk of depression, cognitive impairment and sleep disorders. And its normal level has a positive effect on mood, performance and overall tone.⁹

And, of course, cholecalciferol is responsible for the exchange of phosphorus and calcium in the body, helps calcium to be absorbed in the intestines and provide the desired bone density. Importantly, in older adults, vitamin D supplementation with calcium helps increase muscle strength and reduce falls and fractures.¹⁰

How do I get the right amount of the vitamin I need?

If we talk about products, then the leader in the content of vitamin D is fatty fish, for example, salmon, mackerel, sardines. It contains an average of 400 international units (IU) per 100 g. It is also found in yolks (about 20 IU each). All other foods are low in vitamin D. Thus, to get the required daily dose of the vitamin (600-800 IU), every day you need to eat 150-200 grams of fish or a huge amount of eggs. And this means that it is almost impossible to get a normal amount of it from food, other sources are needed.

Such a source can be a novelty — Wobecare Vitamin D3 (Vobekea Vitamin D3) in a unique spray format. This is the first vitamin D in Russia in the form of a nano-emulsion spray. What is its difference?

All sprays can be divided into two types:

vitamin D oil solutions with a dispenser;

nanoemulsion sprays.

The former are traditional vitamin D in liquid form. The dispenser makes the reception more convenient. However, before being absorbed, the oil solution must overcome the aggressive environment of the stomach and intestines, where it encounters difficulties.

Spray based on Nanoemulsion Wobackea is an innovative technology that encapsulates vitamin D molecules in nanodroplets with a protective layer and makes the vitamin soluble in water without losing its properties. Thus, when vitamin D is sprayed into the sublingual region, it enters directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the long journey through the gastrointestinal tract. This leads to the fact that the vitamin is absorbed 2 times better¹² and retains all its properties. Nanodrops are best absorbed when used «under the tongue», this is easily achieved when using the spray form.

Can an oily solution be sprayed under the tongue for better absorption?

No, because the fat-soluble vitamin cannot be absorbed and transported in the blood (aquatic environment) unlike the Wobackea technology.

Wobecare Vitamin D3 (Vobekea Vitamin D3) has a pleasant mint taste, it does not need to be washed down with water. The spray is convenient to take with you, it does not need a special temperature regime. Also, the spray format helps to regulate the intake and avoid overdose.

The combination of all these properties is unique for the Russian market, because drops need to be carefully measured, and tablets and capsules are less digestible and need to be washed down. It is also important that Wobecare Vitamin D3 is made in Italy.

How much vitamin D do you need?

Laboratory tests and consultation with a doctor will help determine its level in the blood. Recommendations from the Russian Association of Endocrinologists and the Russian Association for Osteoporosis give the following figures: people aged 18 to 50 should receive about 600 IU per day¹¹ prophylactically. If you use Wobecare Vitamin D3, then you need only two clicks on the dispenser to get the daily dose under the tongue. Over 50 years of age, the prophylactic dose may be increased to 800–1000 IU per day¹¹.

Wobackea Vitamin D3 Spray can be used both for prevention and maintenance of adequate levels of vitamin D in the body. Support yourself in the spring with a vitamin in a convenient spray format. Reach for the sun with vitamin D in an innovative form!
