CHELYABINSK, April 19 The fire that occurred during the day at the Uzelginsky mine in the Verkhneuralsky district of the Chelyabinsk region has been extinguished, the incident will not affect the production process, reports GUMCHS in the region.
A front-end loader caught fire in a mine at a mark of -520 meters on the territory of the Uzelginsky GOK, 4 kilometers from the village of Mezhozerny. There were 347 people in the mine, all but one were evacuated to the surface on their own. The remaining worker was found in the shaft where the loader caught fire and was also brought to the surface.
«The fire at the mine of the Uzelga Mining and Processing Plant was extinguished on an area of 60 square meters (the load-and-dump machine was completely destroyed). This incident will not affect the production process, on April 20 the mine will operate as normal,» the release says.
The Uzelginsky mine is a large workshop of the Uchalinsky GOK. The company reported that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
