Polish farmers protest against the import of food from Ukraine

WARSAW, Apr 20 Polish farmers at 50 tractors are protesting against the import of food products from Ukraine, the PAP agency reports.
«A column of about 50 agricultural tractors is moving on Thursday along the national road No. 8 between Ząbkowice Silesian in Lower Silesia. This form of protest was chosen by farmers from the Ząbkowice region,» the report says.

The protesters intend to drive to Łagiewnik, turn back and drive along the national road No. 8 to Ząbkowice Silesian, the agency specifies.

Earlier it was reported that Poland proposes to the EU to ban the import from Ukraine not only of grain, but also of other foodstuffs.
At the backdrop of protests from local farmers, Poland and Hungary announced at the end of last week that they were suspending imports of Ukrainian agricultural products entering the European market without duties. On Monday, Slovakia announced the suspension of the import of grain and other individual products from Ukraine, and on the eve it became known that Bulgaria is also considering the possibility of introducing a temporary ban on the import of Ukrainian grain.
