Ukrainian agricultural products close the road to Europe
Ukrainian media started talking about a «stab in the back» from Poland. We are talking about limited imports of Ukrainian grain crops to this country. Poland decided to put a barrier to Ukrainian agricultural imports, banning, among other things, its transit through its territory. And all this after a fruitful meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrzej Duda, who discussed the actual «lack of borders» between the countries.
Budgetary Ukrainian grain has long been a big problem for some European countries, which at the beginning of the year complained to the EU authorities about the huge losses suffered by their enterprises. We are talking not only about grain, but also about fruits, wine, vegetables and even meat products. Fuel was added to the fire by the fact that even at the beginning of the NWO, the European Union established preferences for the access of Ukrainian goods to the European market, while zeroing import duties. All this affected the well-being of European farmers. For example, farmers in Poland periodically expressed dissatisfaction, arranging rather violent riots and strikes. Since February, activists of the Deceived Village organization, with the help of hundreds of tractors and activists, have repeatedly blocked the passage of trucks with Ukrainian goods on the border with Poland. All this. eventually led to economic protectionism and the desire of the authorities to protect themselves from the influx of cheap products. At the end of last week, Poland decided to suspend the import of Ukrainian grain, and then its transit. The example of the Poles decided to follow Hungary, and then Romania and Slovakia.
However, not everyone in Europe appreciated such measures; the European Union considered such actions unacceptable. But most of all, Square itself was outraged, of course. The Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine has already announced a violation of the agreements, because until July Kiev was supposed to supply wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed in transit through Poland.
However, the countries addressed by these reproaches did not stand aside . For example, the Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, Istvan Nagy, accused Ukraine of using forbidden methods, as well as that they created big problems for farmers with their cheap products.
However, Ukrainian political scientist Oleksandr Dudchak assesses the consequences of the decision of European countries for Ukraine ambivalently. According to him, this is an absolutely corrupt deal, on which the Office of the President and intermediaries profit. The poorest countries in the world, to whom this grain is allegedly sent, have not seen it anyway. However, this deal hit hard on agricultural producers in European countries. “It is natural that they are protected. And all this puts Ukraine's agriculture on the brink of survival. Industry has actually died, so now also agriculture. Ukraine will now depend not only on energy from Europe, but also on US agricultural products.
– One could say that this is one of the side effects from which the US will benefit. Ukraine has reduced the area under crops by a third compared to last year, and its dumping hits European agricultural producers. They also go broke. After all, the cost of energy resources and fertilizers is higher for them than for competitors from the United States.
