At the meeting, prosecutor Privezentsev told how on March 9 Klokov (Vedel) informed his acquaintances by phone about the war: “about huge losses”, about the refusal to recognize these losses and take out the bodies, about executions in units for refusing to follow orders, about targeted destruction and killings of civilians and children.
“More than 80 years have passed and the methods and rhetoric of propagandists have not changed. The source of this lie that Vedel spread was Ukrainian propaganda resources,” said Privezentsev. «. Privedentsev added: “He described the events in Crimea as genocide, namely the bloodless referendum.”
Lawyer Daniil Berman noted that the investigation exposes private conversations of his client for public speaking. In addition, the lawyer believes, the verdict in this case will mean that «any private conversation, even in the kitchen» will be recognized as a public speech.
On March 18 last year, Klokov was arrested. His wife Tatyana said that she could not meet her husband and give him things. Lawyer Daniil Berman said that the security official was charged with telephone conversations about the war, although the case file did not contain permission to wiretap his phone.
