The incident happened on April 6, the woman fell from the balcony of her apartment on General Antonov Street in the Konkovo district. She was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. The doctors tried to save her, but a few hours later the woman died.

The wife of the deceased, Yevgeny Savintsev, was a KGB colonel and the head of several special forces . He worked in Western Ukraine, fought against the organization of Ukrainian nationalists led by Stepan Bandera, and also in Afghanistan against the Afghan Mujahideen. He was awarded the Order of Honor, the medal of the Patriotic War II degree and three dozen other medals. Savintsev died in 2015 at the age of 90.
