MOSCOW, April 21 The Russian market has a sufficient number of analogues of Duracell products from other foreign brands, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reported.
Earlier on Friday, the telegram channel Mash published an appeal from the CEO of the company's subsidiary, Duracell Russia LLC, Yuri Korotaev, to business partners, in which it is reported that Duracell shareholders have decided to leave the Russian market. The company confirmed this information to the telegram channel. In addition, the head of Duracell Russia confirmed the authenticity of the aforementioned letter to the Rise telegram channel.
Later, a source in the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that if the American company Duracell leaves the Russian market, the possibility of returning Duracell to the list of parallel imports will be worked out.
«There are a sufficient number of offers from other foreign brands on the market,» the ministry said, commenting on the information that Duracell was leaving Russia.
At the same time, according to the ministry, an investment project is currently being worked out to set up the production of alkaline (alkaline) batteries. The project assumes the launch of two lines for the production of alkaline (alkaline) batteries in 2024. Production capacity will allow to produce more than 250 million pieces per year. The project is planned to be implemented by AB-Batteris LLC in the Krasnodar Territory. Investments in the enterprise will amount to about 1 billion rubles.
