TEL AVIV, Apr 22 government reform, which was previously suspended, is once again taking place in Tel Aviv, the correspondent reports.
The central streets in the city are blocked, and the police are on duty at the place of demonstrations.
Massive spontaneous protests in Israel against the judicial reform of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu are taking place for the sixteenth week in a row. This Saturday, protests took place in Haifa, Ashdod, Beersheba and other major Israeli cities.
Netanyahu at the end of March announced the suspension of the legislative process on judicial reform in order to negotiate and reach a compromise with opponents. Further discussion of the reform in parliament will begin during the summer session of the Knesset.
However, protest organizers, fearful that a controversial law giving the coalition control over judicial appointments could be quickly put to a vote, have vowed to keep organizing demonstrations until the reform is completely defeated.
