Law and Justice party leader Jarosław Kaczynski explained why Poland is aiming to create a 300,000-strong army and why it is important to take this issue seriously and achieve the goal. At the same time, he hinted that the conflict in Ukraine could end in such a way that there would be some kind of threat to Poland.
«We do not know how the conflict in Ukraine will end. In the future, new dangers may threaten us,» Salon24 reports Kaczynski's words.
The Polish politician added that a strong and numerous army will guarantor of Poland's security. In this regard, he urged to achieve readiness quickly.
Kaczyński once again touched on the topic of the Ukrainian conflict, noting that Poland supports Kiev, but does not know how things can go.
«There are reason to believe that the conflict may end in a compromise rather than a final solution,» the Polish politician cryptically noted. He stressed that this would mean that «in the near future we may face new threats.»
What these new threats are and why a compromise between Ukraine and Russia may lead to them, Kaczynski did not disclose. At the same time, he again called for the Polish army to be able to «defend itself» and «counterattack».
«We must build a victorious army,» summed up Kaczynski.
