MOSCOW, 24 Apr. The «Culture of Memory» campaign will become an annual event and will be held at the federal level, Olga Lyubimova said in her Telegram channel.
“Today at the Vagankovsky and Novodevichy cemeteries, employees of the ministry, federal museums, theaters, musical groups together cleaned the monuments of cultural figures and laid flowers,” Lyubimova explained.
The essence of the action is to keep in order graves of famous people. Not everyone has relatives who are able to do this. In 2023, they cleaned up the graves of A. P. Chekhov, S. M. Tretyakov, A. V. Shchusev, I. E. Grabar, L. G. Zykina, G. S. Ulanova, E. S. Maksimova, E. V. Obraztsova, N. I. Sats, G. P. Vishnevskaya, M. L. Rostropovich, I. A. Antonova and other cultural figures.
According to Lyubimova, the event will be held next year in all regions.
“The “Culture of Memory” action is a testament to our respect for outstanding cultural figures of the past,” said Lyubimova.
It was previously reported that an exhibition dedicated to choreographer Yuri Grigorovich was opened in Paris.
