MOSCOW, 25 Apr. The new general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Elena Pronicheva, spoke about her priorities. She shared the details in an interview with The Art Newspapper Russia.
According to her, this is the exit of the gallery outside of Moscow.
“We, as the main museum of national art in Russia, which has a unique collection, must expand our presence in the regions, give their residents the opportunity to see masterpieces that are familiar to everyone from school,” said the head of the institution.
For this, according to Pronicheva, it is necessary to expand exhibition activities in the regions and interaction with local museums. She recalled that the Tretyakov Gallery has experience in preparing and carrying out such projects and they were popular.
