MOSCOW, April 26 Annual inflation in Russia slowed to 2.55% on April 24 against 2.82% a week earlier, follows from the review Ministry of Economic Development «On the current price situation».
«For the week from April 18 to April 24, prices rose by 0.10%. Year-on-year inflation continued to decline to 2.55%,» the document says.
This is the lowest inflation rate in Russia since March 2020 (when it was 2.5%).
The Ministry indicates that prices in the food sector rose by 0.24%, while prices for both fruits and vegetables and other food products rose.
In the segment of non-food products, prices increased by 0.02%. In the service sector, prices remained almost at the level of the previous week. Prices for household services increased, while prices for tourism services decreased against the background of an increase in the rate of reduction in the cost of air tickets for domestic flights.
In April, the Ministry of Economic Development improved the forecast for inflation in 2023 to 5.3% from 5.5%. As for intra-annual dynamics, the ministry expects that in June it will be at the level of 3.6% in annual terms, in September it will accelerate to 4.7%, and in December to 5.3%. In 2024-2026 inflation will be at the level of 4%.
