MOSCOW, April 26 The farewell to the artistic director of the Kremlin Ballet Andrei Petrov ended in the farewell hall of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation in Moscow, reports a correspondent.
Petrov died on Monday at the age of 77 in Yoshkar-Ola.
The general director of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin, artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet Company Mahar Vaziev, director of the Kremlin Ballet Theater Nikolai Troitsky, head of the theater troupe Vadim Kremensky, prima ballerina Alexandra Timofeeva and other ballet dancers, relatives and friends came to say goodbye to the choreographer. In total, the ceremony was attended by about 50 people.
““ Those who have gathered here today are those whom he always expected for his performances. He would be happy to see you at War and Peace. Andrei Borisovich had only two entries in his work book, (one of which) Kremlin Palace. Andrey Borisovich's performances have always been bright, stylish, intelligent, like himself,» Troitsky said at the farewell ceremony.
Wreaths for the ceremony were sent by the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Bolshoi Theater, the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation, the Public Television of Russia, the Igor Moiseev Folk Dance Ensemble, the Moscow Academy of Choreography and others.
The funeral service of the deceased was also held in the farewell hall. The hearse with Petrov's coffin will go to the Troekurovskoye cemetery, where the choreographer will be buried.
Andrey Petrov — People's Artist of Russia, choreographer, founder, artistic director and chief choreographer of the Kremlin Ballet Theatre. He was the son of Olga Petrova, actress of the Moscow Romen Theater, and Boris Kholfin, dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre. Petrov graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School and joined the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater. In 1990, he founded the Kremlin Ballet.
