MOSCOW, April 26 The Big Book National Literary Award has announced the long list of the eighteenth season, the press service of the event reports.
It includes 51 works by authors from 16 cities of Russia, as well as four countries of the world: Austria, Belarus, Great Britain and Georgia.
According to the director of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V. I. Dal, Dmitry Bak, there are three intrigues in the long list.
“Firstly, a relatively large number of poets who suddenly (or expectedly) turned to prose. Further, the final consolidation of the next “generation of thirty-year-olds”: such names of the corresponding clips appeared in the 1920s, in the seventies and nineties — a new time has come for them.Finally, there are no obvious contenders for victory «on the basis of total merit,» Bak noted. Olga Anikina («Call Me By Your Name»), Mikhail Baru («The Tablecloth of the Queen of England»), Pavel Basinsky and Ekaterina Barbanyaga («Alice in the Russian Looking Glass»), Oksana Vasyakina («Rose»), Evgeny Vodolazkin («Chagin») , Zakhar Prilepin («Sholokhov. Illegal») and others.
The list of finalists will be announced on June 1.
It was previously reported that «Russian Victory Readings» will be held in Moscow.
