MOSCOW, 28 Apr. The founder of Amedia, Alexander Akopov, has resigned from the board of directors of the Amediateka online cinema, RBC writes, citing the RAS accounts of the main legal entity of the video service (LLC A Series).
As noted in the media, this happened on November 22, 2022. The next day, the producer became the general director of the STS television channel and the deputy general director of the National Media Group (NMG). In February, he came under EU sanctions.
According to the publication, now Leonard Blavatnik, Sergey Karpukhovich, Anatoly Akimenko and Alexander Shenkman are on the board of directors.

Referring to an insider, RBC claims that Akopov also «ceased to be a co-owner of the service.»

The media emphasizes that the producer did not answer questions from the publication. NMG, STS and Amediateki declined to comment.
According to the results of 2022, among Russian online cinemas, only Amediateka became a profitable service. The article also reminded: after WarnerMedia suspended its activities in the Russian Federation, the company's new products got to streaming. Among them is the Dragon House.
