MOSCOW, April 27 The film «Everything» by Chinese director Lu Halai won a prize in the Moscow International Short Film Competition Film Festival (MIFF), the correspondent reports.
The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday at the Rossiya theater in the capital.
«We had the great honor of watching short films from all over the world and it was hard to choose the winner. For the original story, for the powerful energy… The prize goes to the best short film «Everything,» said Giorgio Cugno, President of the Short Film Competition Jury.

«I am honored to receive this prize. Many thanks to Moscow, this cinematic country, and many thanks to the festival, we, filmmakers, see the temple of cinematography in this festival,» said Halai, receiving the award.
15 films from 13 countries took part in the short film competition, among them «Twins» by Cuban director Orlando Mora Cabrera, «Everything» by Chinese director Lu Halai, «Guasuvir» by Nicolás Sequeira and Joaquin Araujo from Uruguay, «Not My Home» by Argentine director Sonia Stiliano, The Gentle Rumble of Spring by Canadian director Simon Garez, Night of the Monkey by French director Eloise Addad, Honey Island by Chinese director Zhou Yan, Where It All Started by Iranian directors Amirhossein Talebi and Mohsen Asdagpour, Palestine 87 by director Bilal Alkhatib from Palestine, «Rimus» by German director Magdalena Jacob, «Compilation of Extremely Short Stories» by Brazilian director Pedro Fraga Villas, «Sushi» by Spanish director Ivan Morales, «Elsa» by French director Jean-Marc Guillier, «Youtubers» by Korean director Jung Bom Shik. Russia was represented by the painting «The Hole. A Story in 9 Scenes» by Pavel Korolko.
The short was judged by director and actor Giorgio Cugno from Italy, Russian actress Alena Babenko and cinematographer from Bangladesh Dzhuboraj Shamim.
MIFF is one of the oldest festivals in the world, it was first held in 1935, the chairman of the jury was director Sergei Eisenstein. Since 1959, the festival began to be held regularly.
